Maple Woods

March 10, 2016

On Wednesday, I went to the Maple Woods Nature Center for a field trip. It was so lovely out -- 60ยบ and everything was absolutely gorgeous. (even though the trees were bare) It was super cool to see the process of how pure maple syrup is made. (the smell of the boiling syrup and smoke in the processor room was probably my favorite part of the whole trip) I'm just going to stop talking and you can see the prettiness yourself ;)

One of the employees said that during may 3-7, there are flowers. everywhere. as far as the eye can see. You guys might be seeing a Maple Woods pt ii...

Small Town Adventures

February 16, 2016

tell me who I'm not,

and maybe I'll become who I should be

I know I've built a lot of walls in my soul. trust me, I see.

trust me I see.

let's light the house on fire,

four walls bound us no longer.

we'll dance in the warmth of it's blaze.

stand tall like vanilla pines,

everyday is another try to chose to do more than survive.

we could do more than survive

we cannot run this love is all we have

without it we are nothing

but we wear your grace like skin

taking us where veils are thin

MI Road Trip

February 4, 2016

About a month ago (I know I'm super late) my family went on a ski/snowboarding trip to upper Michigan. It was absolutely gorgeous -- every molecule in sight, dusted with a fresh layer of white powder. Birch and Pine groves, and endless winding roads of wood. It was simply magical.

We left early Sunday morning because there was word that a big snow storm was coming. (it did indeed snow a lot) That night we stayed at a hotel, then woke the next morning and left for Caberfae Peaks. We shredded the powder all morning/afternoon until about 4:30. It was a very successful day for me on the slopes as I made it all the way down a black diamond without falling! The feeling you get when you are flying down the run is unexplainable. The wind in your face, adrenaline pumping, and the feeling of being free; you feel as if you could conquer the world. I encourage you all to go boarding if you ever get the chance. It's an experience you will never forget.

In two days (Friday) I'm leaving for our church's Winter Retreat which is around the same area and I'm super pumped. It is always such a good time. Be prepared for another winter road trip post!
